BID Technology
Business and Innovation Development (BID) is a special unit operating within the University of Turku focused on business research, applied ICT sector R&D and commercialization of technological innovations. BID activities include establishing and carrying out research projects, R&D collaboration with industry partners and development of new technologies and design methodologies. The new special unit was founded in 2011 when segments of the IT department were merged with the former BID special unit of Turku School of Economics.
BID comprises two main functional units: BID Business and BID Technology. The premises of BID Technology are situated in EuroCity, which is part of Turku Technology Park in Kupittaa, Turku, and in the campus of higher education in Salo.
We strive to combine the newest expertise and innovations into successful business development. Our clients and partners consist of companies and other organizations along with domestic and international networks of experts. We follow and prognosticate changes and challenges within knowledge intensive businesses. We carry out research in innovations, entrepreneurship and new business models – also in the business environment of tomorrow.
